I talked to an expert in executive education and organizational learning this morning; her depth of knowledge was impressive - her respect and love for people was extraordinary. She said something to me that is worth repeating. As we discussed a CEO she admired she said:
"He is an extraordinary person. He really wants to be a good leader. He works so hard at improving himself that he is constantly in a state of transformation."
It is not surprising that his organization has been recognized for its progressive culture, community involvement, and business leadership. If the CEO is evolving - the company has a chance to evolve. This is the best kind of leadership by example.
