Life is...

I have recently been thinking a lot about how our perceptions color our worldview. The way that a situation is perceived will influence the way that one chooses to react and feel. Is your first inclination to view a situation through an emotional lens? Or do you view situations from a logical/analytical lens?

There is not a right or wrong way to look at a situation- it’s personal and unique to your own life experiences. The important part is to recognize why you feel and act the way that you do. When you develop this self-awareness, you can begin to deal with situations in a pragmatic way that will help you reach your goals.

I would like to start a conversation. If you are reading this, consider the following statement:

“Life is ___________________________.”

How would you finish that sentence? Try to use the first thought that comes to your mind. Think about why you might have completed the statement the way that you did. What experiences may have contributed to the way that you chose to complete this sentence? Over your lifetime, has the ending to this statement changed?

I’ll start:

“Life is a rollercoaster of ups and downs.”
