The Politics of Poor Leadership

Recently, I read an article online that discussed the leaders of the Democratic Party. It was an article which spoke to the fact that Democrats are questioning the choices of leaders within their ranks- and they should. Too many times in the past, leaders have been given a pass when they abuse power based upon their party affiliation. The political parties have closed ranks and turned on the spin cycle for the American public to convince the people that it's not as bad as it seems.

Personally, I don't care about the sex. I care about the abuse of power, sexual harassment, lying, and using people and money to cover up mistakes. I really hate it when taxpayers have to pay legal fees or settlement claims from mistakes made by boneheads.

Also, I wish politicians would give us a little credit. We know the script by now:
  1. Deny everything
  2. Make counter accusations
  3. Get your spouse to stand next to you in support
  4. Perform a tearful mea culpa
  5. Tell us you have learned your lesson

How about this script instead: don't abuse your power in the first place and be the leader you were elected to be.
